Today while I was in the prayer room, Wesley came up to me and had me read something. It was powerful and really amazing. I wanted to allow you guys to read it, and to share because this is my heart.

I think that the writer is referring to the followers of Jesus, maybe the disciples.

They were living to themselves; self with its hopes and promises and dreams, still had hold of them; but the Lord began to fulfill their prayers. They had asked for contrition, and had surrendered for it to be given to them at any cost, and He sent them sorrow; they had asked for purity, and He sent them thrilling anguish; they had asked to be meek, and He had broken their hearts; they had asked to be dead to the world and He slew all their living hopes; they had asked to be made like unto Him, and He placed them in the furnace, sitting by “as a refiner and purifier of silver,” until they should reflect His image; they had asked to lay hold of His cross, and when He had reached it to them it lacerated their hands.

They had asked they knew not what, nor how, but He had taken them at their word, and granted them all their petitions. They were hardly willing to follow Him so far, or to draw so nigh to Him. They had upon them awe and fear, as Jacob at Bethel, or Eliphaz in the night visions, or as the apostles when they thought that they had seen a spirit, and knew not that it was Jesus. They could almost pray Him to depart from them, or to hide His awfulness. They found it easier to obey than to suffer, to do than to give up, to bear the cross than to hang on it. But they cannot go back, for they have come too near the unseen cross, and its virtues have pierced too deeply within them. He is fulfilling to them His promise, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32).

But how at last their turn has come. Before, they had only heard of the mystery, but now they feel it. He has fastened on them His look of love, as He did on Mary and Peter, and they can but choose to follow.

Little by little, from time to time, by flitting gleams, the mystery of His cross shines out upon them. They behold Him lifted up, they gaze on the glory which rays from the wounds of His holy passion; and as they gaze they advance, and are changed into His likeness, and His name shines out through them for He dwells in them. They live alone with Him above, in unspeakable fellowship; willing to lack what others own (and what they might have had), and to be unlike all so that they are only like HIm.

Such, are they in all ages, “Who follow the Lamb wither soever He goeth.”

Had they chosen for themselves, or their friends chosen for them, they would have chosen otherwise. They would have been brighter here, but less glorious in His kingdom. They would have had Lots portion, not Abraham’s. If they had halted anywhere–if God had taken off His hand and let them stray back–what would they not have lost? What forfeits in the resurrection?

But He stayed them up, even against themselves. Many a time their foot had well nigh slipped; but He in mercy held them up. Now, even in this life, they know all He did was done well. It was good to suffer here, that they might reign hereafter; to bear the cross below, for they shall wear the crown above; and that not their will but His was done on them and in them.

I know this is crazy deep. But in essence, once we finally and truly totally surrender to the Lord, we will find a place we can never leave. We as His children are still so hesitant to really give ourselves to Him. Because in all honesty, it is so hard. He will take us places we never would have willingly gone, but OH THE JOY that comes when we get through! He will wound us (with love) in such a way there is no where else to turn but to Him, the Healer! And at the end we realize, we are doing it not for anything down here in this world that is fading away, but all in light of Eternity! Where we will be with Him forever. So we will get to the place in our lives here on earth where it is not our will being done in our lives, but His and His alone!

Oh what a glorious place! Have you completely surrendered? Totally surrendered everything over to Jesus? Well if you haven’t I urge you to do so as quickly as possible! OH the freedom and life that comes from giving everything to the One who is in complete control! He is amazing and wonderful and everything you will ever need! My prayer is that He will touch your hearts in a way that will cause you to really know Him, and then walk in lovesickness! When you start to walk in lovesickness, there is nothing you can do but follow Him. IT IS AMAZING! HE IS AMAZING!

I am not at all saying that every moment of every day I live in total surrender. That is far from true. But I am saying yes to the total surrender and letting Him have His way. He is the One who does it. He is the One who pours out the grace and strength. We are utterly depraved and cannot do it ourselves! But He is so faithful! Just let Him take control!

I was in a terrible mood this weekend. It was awful. BUT God is so good. Yesterday I went on a mini road trip with Wesley to see some of our friends from IHOP-ATL. It was an amazing time! It couldn’t have been more perfect. And the Lord blessed me even in the midst of me being terrible. I love HIM! It makes my heart sing with love for GOD!

Two of our friends got married about 3 hours away from where we live. So we got to drive there and attend the wedding. It was the most amazing wedding I’ve ever been to. Because the presence of God was there! We worshiped and He showed up! It was such a beautiful picture of Jesus and the Church! (Eph. 5)

I will have pictures coming soon as I get them from other people. Our friends prophesied over us and prayed over us and just encouraged us with their words! The Lord was truly speaking through them right to our hearts. My weekend was turned into JOY! Because in His presence is FULLNESS of JOY! WooHOO!

So I love the Lord. Without Him I would totally be in a pit of despair. This world has nothing to offer, and I would be miserable with out Him!

Oh yeah! I almost forgot…

My car broke down on the way back from the wedding! On the way there my battery light came on. I thought that was a bad sign but nothing else happened. Then I was afraid my car wouldn’t start after the wedding but praise the Lord it did!

But as we were riding down the highway a couple of miles, the lights began to get dimmer, and then my speedometer stopped working and all the inside lights shut off. Then my blinkers stopped. By this time I am pulling of an exit into a gas station. Me and Wesley were praying over the car. We pull in and I shut it off, and it won’t start again. Which is what I thought would happen. So me and Wesley go into the gas station and Wesley proceeds to ask in a very loud voice from the front of the door…”Does anyone have jumper cables?” And these two guys said they could help us. So they took a look at my battery. It seems that the connection was bad. So they fixed it up and charged my battery and my car worked perfectly the rest of the way home and still is working today!!!! GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS! 🙂 He is so amazing! And so faithful!

It is getting harder and harder to keep up with this blog consistently. But I will press through and do it! 🙂 Here are some pictures of random things.

Wesley got his hair cut again! Now its short, for real!

The “bratpack” as we now call ourselves, did a face mask night. Yup thats right, even Wesley. He is such a good sport! We had fun, and we had super soft faces.

Some of the staff has been gone for the past 10 days. So me, Wesley, John and Gracey, have been holding down the fort at IHOP-AC. It has been great, but I have felt the weight of the responsibility of a prayer room, and being open for the community.

I taught a class in The Way School of Ministry. I taught on Preserving God’s People through our identity as sons, our identity as the bride, and our identity as priests. I had a great time sharing what was on the heart of the Lord!

Wesley preached during our EGS service on Friday night. Man, he did an AMAZING job! He brought a strong word on Contending for the Knowledge of God. That we would stop living a concept Christianity and begin to live in reality! Powerful and life-changing message!

I am now officially a North Carolina resident! It has taken me a while because of costs but the Lord has provided! I am now in the process of trying to get my car fixed and then getting my inspection. Praise the Lord!

I praise the Lord for my life and for all that He is doing! He is amazing!
