The Lord was speaking to me in the prayer room about how I am supposed to see other people. I’ve shared on here a lot that I struggle with loving people the way that I am supposed to.

Today, my friend Sam was singing a song by Tim Reimherr called More Than Ashes. It says “I’m the rose, I’m the lily, I am Yours, I’m Your beauty.” And it is just amazing when you have this revelation of how much you mean to the Lord.

But today the Lord was telling me, “Thats what I think about the others around you too.” Which I know, but I don’t usually think about. So I was beginning to journal about the revelation that the Lord has of others. Even the ones I get frustrated with, or think are so immature or whatever the case is.

The Lord wants us to have revelation of our identity, but He wants us to understand this is the identity of everyone. This thing called Christianity is so much more corportate then we think. We, the Church, are the Bride. All of us.

Something that Billy Humphrey always says is, “God really likes you, no I mean really likes You.” And so when that person is doing something you don’t like, or think they shouldn’t be doing, remember how much God really likes them. He really loves them. He really thinks they are awesome. He really delights in them.

This is why He said love our neighbors as ourselves. He wants us to know our identity and be confident in it, but He wants us to know others identity too. Because when we begin to see how God sees, just as we have to do with ourselves. We will begin to love them, just as we begin to love ourselves.

This really helped me with taking every thought captive. When someone is annoying me and I’m just thinking about what they said and blah blah blah, I can remember the things the Lord speaks over them! They are beautiful to Him, He says they are lovely even in their weakness!

I know I sure don’t see people the way the Lord does. Help me God! Give me Your eyes and Your perspective! Teach me to love others as You love them!

Journal excerpt from Jan. 2005:

Things I need to work on:

1. Listening to others and not talking as much. –from Allison (my best friend)

2. Being confident in who I am. My identity is found in Christ. –from Josh

3. Stop being so negative and be more positive. –Shevi and Josh

And I have a side note from March 2005: concerning #3 I have “so working” and concerning #1 & #2 “need to still work on”.

Those top two things are things that I still am working on. But the Lord is being faithful to do it. It takes years to be formed into who He wants you to be. You have to get through so much junk and actually be willing to be changed. I praise the Lord for where He has brought me. Since 2005, He has spoken to me on these issues. It is cool to see how diligent He is to form Himself in us. Keep doing it God! 🙂

I had the privilege of teaching at our Encountering God Service last night.

I taught on our identity as sons, bride and priests. Because God is our Father, Jesus is the Bridegroom and they are worthy to be ministered to, and to partner with their heart in intercession!

You can click this link to get the notes:

And you can listen to the teaching here (won’t be available until Monday):

Hope you enjoy! 🙂

It is getting harder and harder to keep up with this blog consistently. But I will press through and do it! 🙂 Here are some pictures of random things.

Wesley got his hair cut again! Now its short, for real!

The “bratpack” as we now call ourselves, did a face mask night. Yup thats right, even Wesley. He is such a good sport! We had fun, and we had super soft faces.

Some of the staff has been gone for the past 10 days. So me, Wesley, John and Gracey, have been holding down the fort at IHOP-AC. It has been great, but I have felt the weight of the responsibility of a prayer room, and being open for the community.

I taught a class in The Way School of Ministry. I taught on Preserving God’s People through our identity as sons, our identity as the bride, and our identity as priests. I had a great time sharing what was on the heart of the Lord!

Wesley preached during our EGS service on Friday night. Man, he did an AMAZING job! He brought a strong word on Contending for the Knowledge of God. That we would stop living a concept Christianity and begin to live in reality! Powerful and life-changing message!

I am now officially a North Carolina resident! It has taken me a while because of costs but the Lord has provided! I am now in the process of trying to get my car fixed and then getting my inspection. Praise the Lord!

I praise the Lord for my life and for all that He is doing! He is amazing!

So many of us are living with an orphan mentality. Because we don’t understand God as our Father. If we did we would understand that we have an INHERITANCE! We have been adopted into the greatest family ever! And we have been given access to EVERYTHING! Eph. 1 talks a lot about this.

The Orphan Mentality is portrayed through thinking such as:

  • I am not loved– yet we are loved by the greatest Man that has ever lived.
  • I am not beautiful–yet Jesus says that we are the “lily among the thorns”!
  • I am poor– yet we have an inheritance, and we have a good Father who likes to PROVIDE
  • Not trusting God– we have to trust that God is who He says He is, and that He will do what He said He would do
  • Having unbelief in our hearts– just as so many of our earthly fathers have let us down, we believe this is the case with our Heavenly Father, but its not

This is just a few, but so many of us do not know our identity as sons and daughters of God, and therefore we do not live in all the fullness that God has for us. Such as understanding that we are loved and beautiful! That we are the richest people that live! That God is the only one we can truly trust! Believing that He is unchanging and faithful!

God I pray that You would break off the orphan mentality in Your Bride! That You would break of the orphan mentality in me! Let us see You, Father, as You truly are! Shift our thinking and our paradigms! Let us trust and have faith in You! Let us find our identity, not in the things of this world, but in the Eternal Father! The One Thing that will not fade away! In Jesus Name!
