Jesse Taitt: Intercessory Missionary at IHOP-AC!

This is Jesse Taitt. He is 22 years old. He went to Liberty University for less then 1 semester and then dropped out to join the prayer movement! He has done an internship at IHOP-KC for 6 months 2 years ago, and he did the same internship as me here at IHOP-AC.

He has been an intercessory missionary for about 2 years now. He is so passionate about the Lord and what the Lord is doing right now! He is a powerful intercessor and an amazing worship leader!

Here is his interview:

How did you get involved in the prayer room?

After high school, I went to college just like everyone else does. At the end of the first semester I went to IHOP-KC for a conference and saw people my age who genuinely loved the Lord, who prayed with passion, who wept with sorrow and who had joy too. After that conference the Lord told me to go there. (Jesse ended up going and doing the 6 month internship I mentioned above. And has been in the prayer room ever since!)

How is your life different now then before you were in the prayer room?

I’m still the same person with the same struggles as everyone else. But before graduating high school, I lived in the religious routine with no excitement or anticipation for the presence of the Lord. After graduation I began to desire to grow in deeper intimacy. Now, there is a desire for holiness which is growing each day. A desire for intimacy experientially. I have began to live a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. Anyone who knew me before wouldn’t say I was a person who prayed or fasted because I am a people person and prayer is so contemplative and meditative. And I really like food.

What would you say to someone who wanted to join the prayer movement as an intercessory missionary?

I would say that’s awesome, it’s going to be so exciting. Each person’s experience in the prayer room will be different, so there isn’t much I would say.

What is the best thing about the prayer room?

The best thing about it for me is that I get to meet with God. Be in the presence of the Lord. It doesn’t always look like a mountaintop experience but the valley’s bring your heart to surrender and tenderize your spirit.

What is the hardest thing about the prayer room?

The hardest thing is people that you are seeing 8 hours a day, every day for seemingly the rest of your life. You see their weaknesses, they see yours and you see each other trying to pursue the Lord. So you have to look past your own weaknesses, look beyond their weaknesses, through the eyes of grace and understand positionally we have all been granted the free girft of righteousness. Forgive, forgive, forgive. Ask for forgiveness, ask for forgiveness, ask for forgiveness.

What are your roles at IHOP-AC?

I pretty much have four things but one will be in the future. 1) lover of God 2) intercessory 3) worship leader and the fourth future one is preacher, but not a normal preacher, more like John the Baptist.

What is your favorite verse?

I have two, Joel 2:28 and 1 Cor. 15:51-53. Because they show the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the bride to walk victoriously in power through the greatest trouble the world has ever known and ever will know unto the return of the Lord, the resurrection of the saints and our dwelling in eternal communion with Jesus.

Hey all my faithful readers (whoever you are, if there really are any.

I am back!

I should be done traveling for a while now, or at least two more months. On to our regularly scheduled blogging! I am hoping that I will be back to posting at least one post a day! So that means….

You have to come back and check out those posts, because I need people to read them, or you know…why blog?

So you all know, (maybe?) that the Lord incredibly blessed me with an all-paid-for trip to IHOP-KC in Kansas City, MO. I was able to go with a sweet family that has “adopted” me. The Carrs.

We went to the Passion for Jesus Conference. I said that I would blog about my experience and all. So here I am, finally getting around to it.

I feel as if I have acutally been living for the Lord for only about 3 and a half years. I’ve been “saved” for 12 years. And what I mean by actually living for the Lord, is that I have given Him all of myself. I am ruined for anything else but Jesus Christ. I can’t live in compromise, and I can’t live in the world and Christianity. I choose Jesus. Nothing else will ever satisfy. And in the past 3 1/2 years I’ve become a completely different person. Oh please don’t get me wrong, I’m messed up and weak, but now I am letting God have His way with me. I’m leaning on Him and letting Him be strong in me. IHOP has had a HUGE impact in the way my life has changed. It is because God has used IHOP in my life. So I’ve been going to conferences and listening to sermons, and teaching and reading books etc…

But I really felt that even though I might hear some of the same things I’ve already heard or that I know at the Passion for Jesus Conference, God was going to do something. There were many amazing speakers and many amazing teachings.

Here is what stood out and what God is continuing to teach me:

1) The youngest Carr girl is Susanna. She is 10 and she is in love with Jesus! She blew me away with the things God was teaching her. She went to the Children’s Equipping Center during the conference. Every time she came back from her session, which lasted between 2-3 hours, she was bubbling with excitement over what God had done! She comes back excited to pray. She tells me how God spoke to her and showed her things. So God is doing something HUGE in the young generation. We cannot hinder the children from coming to Him. God speaks to everyone, even children. I love seeing Him move and what He is doing with those younger then me!

2) Mike Bickle spoke the first night on the First commandment. Which the Lord has been speaking to me about. And the thing that he said that impacted me and stood out was something like this: Most people in the prayer room believe that they are living out the first commandment when they are in the prayer room sitting before the Lord, and that they are living the second commandment out when they are outside of the prayer room. He said this is a wrong perspective. Yes, you are loving God when you are in the prayer room, but when you are in intercession for people, this is loving them. When you can spend hours praying for people, giving up your time because you believe that God is going to break in for them. Or giving up your time because you want God to break in on their situation. This is love. And when we walk outside of the prayer room and live our lives and we choose humility over pride, or we choose not to lust, or we choose to say yes to God in those situations when it is really hard, this is truly loving God…think about that. We have the wrong perspective of the prayer room. I know that I even do sometimes.

3) The Lord blessed me with the opportunity to sit in a Misty Edwards set in the prayer room. It was powerful and spoke to me about His love for me! And how He evaluates us on the heart issues and on how much we love Him. Not based on our ministries, or how many people love us, or how sucessful we are. It was powerful.

4) And last, I went to a break out session on Compassion for the Needy being taught by Benji Nolot. He started the organization called Exodus Cry, for the ending of human trafficking

This is something that the Lord has been speaking to me about. I’ve been praying for the ending of human trafficking, I’ve been having dreams about it and I believe that the Lord is leading me to go on a missions trip to a country where this is a big issue. His session really impacted me because I realized how little compassion I really have on those who are in need. Those who are being oppressed and victimized. So my prayer and cry is that God would put compassion in my heart like He has. That I would pray for the issues that Jesus prays for. That I would weep over the things that He weeps for! Help me God! And I know that He will do it because it is His desire!

I made it to Kansas City! Just wanted to let you all know. Thats why I haven’t updated but I will update soon and with pictures!

Exciting things are coming up:

1) Tuesday, March 3rd, I leave for IHOP-KC to go to the Passion for Jesus conference!

2) I’d really like to go visit my best friend and her baby Paityn, the weekend of March 14th. But I am still praying for the finances to do that. It’s about 170 dollars for a plane ticket.

3) The weekend of March 28th, it looks like the internship is going to take a short retreat to Washington D.C. We are going to visit the Holocaust Museum as well as Justice House of Prayer. Jess’s father lives there so we will be visiting him as well!

4) The last weekend in April, Jess and I as well as our lovely host mother, Becky, will be taking a girls retreat to the beach for a weekend! We are really excited about some warm weather, hopefully.

They also have a FREE CD. With some music from their artists out there. YOU should check it out and see what they are offering. They also offer notes to download and sermons to listen to on MP3.

The Sacred Charge.

1) Pray Daily- 2 hours in prayer and the Word a day. Read the book of Revelation once a week for three years.

2) Fast Weekly- Setting our heart to fast two days a week.

3) Speak Boldly- standing as a Faithful Witness in allegiance to Jesus’ heart for the Church, Israel, and the nations.

4)Do Justly- doing works of justice focusing on the fatherless and oppressed.

5) Give Extravagantly- giving to the prayer movement. (beyond our tithe).

6) Live holy- walking out the sermon on the mount and keeping the purity covenant.

7) Lead Diligently- leading weekly prayer meetings and/or Bible studies focused on training forerunners.

This is the Sacred Charge. I know that the Lord has called me as a forerunner. To prepare the way for the Lord’s return and to prepare the  bride.

I have dedicated the next 10 years of my life to give myself wholeheartedly to this calling. “To not come up for air”. I will be 33 years old.

The next 10 years of my life are probably the years that will bring the most change. Possible marriage and children. But even in the midst of that, I will give myself to this charge. I won’t do it perfectly but I will continue to give myself to it with the grace and strength of the Lord.

The journey to Kansas City started out kind of rough. An 18 hour bus ride in a 15 passenger bus/van thing. With 13 other people.

So you think you love people…until you are stuck with them for 18 hours. The Lord was really exposing my heart, on the way there and they way back. It really stinks. But praise Him that He is faithful to do something good with this depraved person.

Once there we dived right into the presence of Jesus. It was incredible! Night and day worship has not ceased for 9 or 10 years. (Can’t remember exact number). This is a dwelling place of the Lord’s presence. I know He enjoys manifesting Himself in that place because He is so loved and wanted and desired!

We had 4 sessions a day, with different speakers. We studied the book of Revelation. It was insanely powerful! God is doing something in this hour in which we live, and He is doing it because HE IS COMING BACK!!!! If you did not see this or don’t know what I am talking about you can watch it for free HERE!!!!!!

(There are a few topics that I want to cover over the next few posts. Things such as the first commandment, the Sacred Charge and the end of the age. I’m not going to do it in this post. Just give you an overview of what went on.)

I felt like I was on overload. But I know that the Lord was planting seeds in my heart that He was going to cultivate. He had things that He desired to share with me.

I do have to say though, that it was one of the driest times for me. With feeling the Lord’s presence. I knew without a shadow of a doubt He was there and He was moving. But I couldn’t feel Him. But it didn’t matter because He is amazing and worthy whether I feel Him or not. I knew I was there for a reason, and that it was going to be life altering.

In spite of the exposure of my heart in the lack of love I have for others, and the dryness, it still was the best conference I have ever been to! I praise the Lord for the opportunity! He is doing something bigger then ever before. He is preparing His bride for what is to come. And I know I am a part of it. I have to be, because He has called me to be. I have to do what He says. It is my greatest desire!

The end of this year we call 2008 is looking like it will be an exciting one for me!

My traveling starts on the 20th. Where I will be driving to my parents house of Florida for Christmas.

On Sunday the 21st I will be going to Busch Gardens, in Tampa, Florida, with my sister, her husband, her two boys and my two nieces. It will be a lot of fun! I can’t wait. I will get to play in all of the kids park, and I won’t look weird because I will actually have kids with me!

From the 22nd until the 24th I will be running around getting in all my visits with friends.

The 24th we will go to a Christmas Eve service and then we celebrate Christmas that night.

Christmas day will  be a day of relaxing with family.

Off I drive back to North Carolina on the 26th. Last time I drove back here, my car broke down and delayed me by a day. This cannot happen this day. I will leave early in the morning and hope to make it back that night.

Because the 27th through the 2nd I will be in Kansas City, Missouri! I will be at the OneThing Conference. A group of 15 of us are driving out there the 27th. It is roughly a 15 hour drive. Then the conference starts the 28th and goes until the 31st. We will be staying until Friday so that we can get some time in the prayer room at IHOP-KC.

When I get back on the 2nd, I am then getting in my car and driving an hour away from where I live here in Burlington to visit my wonderful friends the Sloanes! I am going to be staying with them for the weekend to catch up.

Then back in the prayer room!! The 12th starts the Immersed Consecration!! Where I will not be going anywhere basically for 4 months! Woohoo! I’m really excited about this time and what God is doing here at IHOP-AC.

So these are my traveling days ahead. I’m sure there will be many posts about my trips as well as many pictures! So look forward to more!!
