Uganda June 2007
I went on a trip to Gulu, Uganda in Africa at the beginning of the summer of 2007. I went with a team of my friends and some people from Maranatha Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia. It was an amazing experience. This was my first time to Africa. I fell in love with the people. We went to help equip leaders of a church there. Some of the guys spent time building a hut on the compound that the missionaries live on. Some of the girls helped out with the kindergarten class that is held during the day. We helped teach some different topics. I also was able to serve the children by shaving their heads. It took about 3 days to do 150 children. We also had a hygiene day where we clipped their finger and toe nails as well as washed their hands and feet. This was a huge deal because these children rarely bathe and they walk barefoot everywhere.
We were also able to go out to different people’s huts and share the gospel. I think a total of 8 people came to know Jesus! It was a time of deep intercession for me. I was burdened to pray for these people. The leaders to walk in intimacy as they minister, and for their to be revival in this village!
Romania Dec. 2007
This trip to Romania was my 3rd trip to this house of prayer in Bazna, Romania. My internship ended in Romania. It was an amazing time where we were able to encourage and equip the intercessors. There were 5 interns and we all had a part in sharing what the Lord has done in us with the Romanians. We stayed before the Lord in worship, prayer and teaching for most of the day.
The women on my team were also able to go to a couple of ladie’s houses and pray with them over certain issues. These ladies were members of the church. One lady and her husband were having issues with neighbors who would be up all night and have loud music on all the time. The family said they were having a really hard time loving those people, and it was getting in the way of their relationship with Jesus. So we were able to pray with them, specifically out of Matt. 5 about loving and praying for our enemies. We were also able to give them each a pair of ear plugs
so they could try to get some sleep at night. But God did even better, the police came to the neighbors house and talked to them, and that very day that we prayed, the neighbors came over and apologized to the family! We were able to rejoice in an answered prayer! Praise the Lord!
The Lord was really working in me and breaking things that were not like Him. This trip, BHOP was the valley of Achor as a door of hope, for me. (Hosea 2:15) God’s presense was dwelling there and I was faced with the holiness of God and it showed me my darkness. But it was so good! I want to be more like my holy GOD! Amen!
